EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services has collaborated with the UN Global Compact on the report, entitled “The State of Sustainable Supply Chains” in an effort to better understand how companies are managing their supply chains in ways that support the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically, EY and UN Global Compact explored how companies are embedding sustainability in their supply chains by managing risks and adopting corporate commitments to human rights, ethics, the environment and the communities from which they source their good and services. More than 100 sustainability, supply chain and procurement specialists from 70 companies globally contributed to the report.

Jean Chawapiwa, Executive Director of WEConnect International in South Africa, was invited to the 14th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) event in Nairobi, Kenya, as a judge in its 5th Empretec Women in Business Awards (E-WBA) competition. Selected from 50 nominations from 23 countries, the winners in this competition were announced at the E-WBA awards ceremony on 21 July 2016 at the World Investment Forum which took place during the 14th UNCTAD event.
