PetanquePétanque International (Pty) Ltd is a boutique woman-owned business consultancy with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg. The company focuses on using visual storyboarding to simplify, change and facilitate performance improvement in organizations.

Managing Director, Dr Michélle Booysen, and her business partner, MJ Fick, have over the past 14 years built their business into a vibrant group of companies with motivated teams. Pétanque is the winner of the 2014 Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) Award for Excellence in BPM and Workflow.

The company’s relationship with WEConnect International can be traced back to 2012. Booysen is a member of various women associations and in 2012 she was sponsored by the Business Women's Association to attend the Women Vendors Exhibition Forum 2012 in Mexico. It was at this event that she heard about WEConnect International which was then three years old. All leading up to this year, when Pétanque International (Pty) Ltd completed their WEConnect International Certification.

Booysen describes herself as a master tactician – a solutions creator with a focus on making complicated business matters easy to understand for all role players. Her substantial experience in strategy mapping, business planning and process optimization is underpinned by a PhD in Economics and studies of the law. Fick is a project management professional with a strong background in Information Technology(IT). Her extensive experience in IT project implementations, change management and ISO information security standards have contributed to her highly-regarded business acumen.

It saves time, is engaging and ensures buy-in by creating a forum for role-players to participate in their enterprise.

Booysen sees great benefit in the relationships with corporates and other women-owned businesses, which come from her connection to WEConnect International in South Africa. Ideally she would like to see a marked increase in the strengthening of business connections and sales opportunities that materialize. She says, "WEConnect International in South Africa is a valuable platform to showcase companies that are capable of playing in the corporate space on a global level. Case studies are of increasing importance as evidence of the capabilities and experience of companies."

Booysen's goal is to continuously participate in the local and global economy: to learn, to share, to challenge, to connect and to enjoy the opportunities that come from working with clients on their organisations – making a difference by building economies, one business at a time. She confirms, “And we have a lot of fun in the process!” Pétanque has set its sights on an ambitious goal: within the next five years, Booysen plans to work with five Fortune 500 companies in the US, and embark on contracts worth USD500 million.
