WEConnect International in China identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women. WEConnect International is the only non-profit connecting women-owned businesses with multi-national corporate purchasing organizations outside of the United States. Greater China includes Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

(April 28, 2017) Loretta LeeLoretta Lee is the chairman and founder of Merchant House International Ltd (MHI Group), a company listed on the Australia Securities Exchange (ASX). Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to establish several companies, including Merchant House International Ltd, The Loretta Lee Group, and Forsan Limited. Loretta also owns own several factories, with three located in China and one factory located in the U.S.  MHI Group have over a thousand employees in China.

The 女 Economy Summit is looking to collaborate with leading women’s organizations to provide a platform for sharing best practices in developing women leadership and networking with likeminded people from the media, non-profit organizations, and top businesses. Input from male advocates will also be invaluable; gender equality is an issue that concerns everyone.

The 2016 Marketplace of WEConnect International was held on December 8th in Shenzhen, China. Top management and senior procurement representatives of WEConnect Corporate Members, global and local women organizations and outstanding women entrepreneurs gathered together and brainstormed on a series of topics including strategies for women entrepreneurs and corporations to forge cooperation opportunities with multinational corporations, practices to coach women on entrepreneurial prowess and ways to elevate the status of women in both business and society as a whole. Vice President of WEConnect International Greta Schettler, Executive Director of WEConnect International Greater China Su Cheng Harris-Simpson, Consul General of the United States of America Consulate General in Guangzhou, China Charles Bennett, Executive Vice President of China Association of Women Entrepreneurs Jiang Hua, and Senior Programme Officer of UN Women China Office Ma Leijun attended this marketplace and made speeches.
