WEConnect International in Indonesia identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women. WEConnect International is the only non-profit connecting women-owned businesses with multi-national corporate purchasing organizations outside of the United States.

On January 30th, twenty women-owned businesses from across different sectors, including advertising, communications, printing services, consulting and warehousing, and professional services, came together in Jakarta to meet with Citi’s procurement and senior leadership team. In addition, representatives attended from the Committee of Gender and Women’s Empowerment Division of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Committee of International Relations and Public Affairs of the Indonesia Business Women’s Association and the Chief of International Relations and Tourism of the Indonesia Young Entrepreneurs Association.

WEConnect International partnered with the US Mission to ASEAN and IWAPI to host a business connections forum for women-owned businesses and large corporates in Jakarta on November 28. The successful event was made possible by the ongoing support of WEConnect International corporate member ExxonMobil. The event convened over 45 women-owned businesses. Sessions included discussions around the challenges being faced across urban and rural Indonesia in accessing sustainable market opportunities and how the WEConnect International network and platform can help.
