WEConnect Official Release
The Government’s Women’s Enterprise Task Force (WETF) announced its first major initiative this week and this looks likely to change the face of women’s enterprise in the UK. The scheme, called WEConnect (Women in Enterprise Connecting to Contracts), will be launched on Tuesday 19th February in a high-profile ceremony at the House of Commons1.
WBENC (Women's Business Enterprise National Council, and the leading certification body in the United States will host a meeting with Stephen Timms, Minister of State for competitiveness. Linda Denny will be welcoming a delegation from the UK government on a fact finding mission on women and entrepreneurship on February 13th.
On November 5th Accenture hosted a meeting of key people in the development of supplier diversity in the UK. We brought together MNC’s represented by Marianne Schoenig of Accenture, Emma Rees and Gwen Turner of Pfizer, and Lisa Russell of Goldmann Sachs.
